Updated: Xbox 360 Arcade Starter Kit Unveiled
With the release of the New Xbox Experience dawning on us, tempting us with its shiny polish, Microsoft has announced that they are releasing a new Xbox 360 Arcade package, with the intention of enabling new users to get online and subscribed to Xbox Live.
As many of you are no doubt aware, the Xbox 360 Arcade and Core consoles already allow you to go online, but with a lack of a harddrive in the console, downloading any content is something of a difficulty. Considering the New Xbox Experience is going to require 128MB of precious storage space to actually come down to and run on your Xbox 360, this is a wise move by Microsoft.
The new Arcade bundle will come complete with a 60GB HDD, headset, ethernet cable and a 3 month Xbox Live Gold subscription to get you started. This bundle will be in stores (in North America) on November 4th, and will retail at $99. Unsurprisingly, no European details have yet been announced.
Note: This starter kit doesn’t come with an Xbox 360 Arcade console, it is simply a bundle of peripherals to get the Arcade console setup to take advantage of the features Xbox Live has to offer, and ready for the New Xbox Experience.
Update: Eurogamer confirm UK release details – £59.99 and out on the 19th November in the UK.
