Back in October 2007 I reviewed The Witcher on PC, and was fairly impressed. Since then a refined version has been released for the PC, which cleared up the majority of the issues I mentioned in the review, but now Atari has confirmed a console version. Dates after the break…

Subtitled “Rise of the White Wolf”, the console version of The Witcher is due to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in autumn 2009. Atari announced that whilst the original story is in place, the game is actually being developed from scratch, so it’s not going to look, feel or play like a PC port, because it isn’t going to be a PC port.

Personally I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays on the Xbox 360, so you can certainly expect a review when I get my paws on it.

Update 03/12/08: Atari have sent over a batch of screenshots for your perusal…
