Konami are bringing back one of the arcade’s finest racing titles via the magic of the PSN. And its coming sooner than you’d think.

December 4th is the date, and the”completely updated and enhanced” version of the game will be available to download for the PS3 via the PSN for EUR14.99.

Boasting all-new high-def graphics and “widely expanded gameplay elements”, the game takes place on the Cote D’Azur on a giant map that is gradully opened as you break certain records. Running at 60fps, the game will offer five licensed vehicles - the Austin Mini Cooper, Renault 5, Fiat A112 Abarth, Lancia Delta and the VW Golf GTI - and allows players to play against up to seven others online, as well as working through the single player mode.

The game will support the PlayStation Eye camera and will feature a remix of the original coin-op soundtrack, as well as player-to-player voice comms. DLC is promised in the form of new cars, with other add-ons to be announced as and when.

This sounds awesome, especially since it was the only racer my local arcade ever had that was working. Handbraking through the town and scattering diners at the roadside cafe was just stellar. We’ll have a full review as soon as we can.
