CES: D3 announces Texas Cheat ‘Em Poker

9th January, 2009 Comments

An interesting take on everybody’s favourite way out of debt.

If you’re a poker fan, then you’re served by a couple of titles that are already available from the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, but none of them provide the ability to cheat. Thankfully.

However, D3 Publisher seems to think that a poker game that pretty much revolves around underhand tactics and blatant cheating would be a fab idea, and thus we have Texas Cheat ‘Em Poker, developed by Wideload. The game is en route for a Spring release over XBLA and the PSN, and allows players to cheat their way to the top by stealing chips, using x-ray vision, swapping cards and employing all manner of other dubious playing methods.

Minigames are promised, as well as a few party games and the game proper will support up to eight players.
One to watch, and no mistake.
